inverse_transform
Builtin index · Statistics & ML
result = scaler.inverse_transform(newX)
Input: newX · Output: result
What it is
Undoes a fitted scaler Record scaler's transform on an already-scaled matrix/vector/table newX, returning it to the original units.
Overloads
One call shape — this function is not overloaded.
| Code | Input | Output | Description |
result = scaler.inverse_transform(newX) | newX Record, matrix, or vectornot documented yet | result — | Returns a value the same shape as newX; lossy for a "quantile"-method scaler when the originally-fitted data had ties. |
Examples
No documentation example calls this form yet. The Statistics & ML chapter is where one belongs.
How it works
scaler.inverse_transform(newX) — undoes .transform. For method="quantile", this interpolates back through the fitted empirical quantile function (scaler:: inverse_transform_column's own doc comment covers the precision limit when the fitted data had repeated values).
