ecdf
ecdf(data)/ecdf(data1, ...)
Input: data · Output: no output
What it is
Empirical cumulative distribution, one staircase per argument. The honest two-distribution comparison: a density estimate's shape is partly its bandwidth's, and an ECDF has no such parameter. The step rises AT the observation (i/n), so the curve reaches 1 at the largest value.

How it works
ecdf(data) / ecdf(data1, data2, ...) -- the empirical cumulative distribution, one staircase per argument. The honest way to put two distributions beside each other. A density estimate's shape is partly its BANDWIDTH's: widen it and a bimodal sample becomes one hump, narrow it and noise becomes structure, and the reader cannot see which they are looking at. An ECDF has no such parameter -- it is the data, sorted -- so a difference between two curves is a difference between two samples.
