apropos
Builtin index · REPL & diagnostics
result = apropos("filter")
Input: "filter" · Output: result
What it is
Takes one argument, a search substring (a string, e.g. "filter"). Returns a List of strings: every builtin name containing that substring, in engine-registration order.
Overloads
One call shape — this function is not overloaded.
| Code | Input | Output | Description |
result = apropos("filter") | "filter" string or Listnot documented yet | result — | Returns a list rather than printing, so a script can count (len(...)) or loop over the hits. |
Examples
From the documentation, and run by the build -- the output and the figure below are what the engine actually produced. Simplest first.
print(apropos("csv"))

How it works
apropos("fit") -- every name containing the word. Returns a list rather than printing, so a script can use it too: length(apropos("filter")), or loop over the results.
From the note above this builtin in the interpreter, where the reasoning was written down as it was built.
